Potatoes Au Gratin

Yep, I love love love my mandoline slicer!!
2 good sized taters, peeled, sliced super thin
1 TBS butter
1 TBS flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 cup cubed velvetta
1/2 block of cream cheese
salt and pepper
6 (or more) strips of bacon. I make 8 and eat 2 leaving me w/ six...but really needed more.
Preheat 350 degrees
Handfull of Shredded cheese (I used 4 cheese)
melt butter over medium high heat until it bubbles a bit
add flour and stir until blondish-brown
slowly pour in milk and let it get hot, not yet boiling
add cheeses, garlic powder, cayenne, salt and pepper and stir constantly until melted.
layer potatoes, cheese, and bacon until u run out of everthing:)
top w/ shredded cheese
bake for about 40 minutes
Yum!

I have a mandolin slicer I got in Nov. that I haven't tried yet- this will give me a good excuse :)
I also have everything layed out on my counter to make the roasted garlic- I just need the time! Maybe this weekend :) Good to see you are back, have a great weekend! :)

U will not be sorry w/ the roasted garlic taters! TO die for!! I love my slicer you have got to get that bad boy out and slice. Just make sure u use lots of potatoes in this or it will be too much! Thanks!

When I made the cauliflower soup I combined a couple recipes I found. I left a detailed comment on that post for you. I don't think I will use that recipe again though.It was good just not quite what I'd hoped for. It sounds like pioneer woman has a really good recipe for it, But it's not blended. So i'm gonna try hers & blend it up!
